I used to keep Pekin ducks but I rehomed them because I felt they needed more space than my garden and the old bath provided to keep them happy. They now live outdoors in a small village in Surrey with a large pond. I now have Call ducks which are much smaller and get on well with my flock of Pekin bantams.
Ducks make excellent pets especially if raised from hatching. While they do not lay as many eggs as chickens, they are entertaining and easy to keep. They also love to eat insects so will help to keep a garden free from slugs and snails.
I board small pets for £1 per animal per day. The money raised for boarding goes directly to the education charity Porridge and Rice that works among the extreme poor living in the Nairobi slums.
In addition, if you have small animals that you no longer can care for, regardless of the reason, I will happily take them in and rehome them. If I cannot find them a new, good home, they will live their days out at The Farm at 64.
